Flatmates

I’m hoping to find a comfortable and well-kept place in Christchurch to call home when I move over in late February 2026. Ideally, somewhere with easy-going, respectful flatmates who appreciate a relaxed, tidy environment. I’m not after a party house — just a place where everyone does their bit and gets along. I’ll be working full-time as a chef, so I’ll have fairly consistent hours and appreciate a space where I can wind down after work. Having a decent kitchen is always a bonus (comes with the trade!), and somewhere that feels warm and welcoming would be perfect. I value a friendly flat dynamic — people who are happy to have a chat, share a meal or drink occasionally, but also respect each other’s space. Proximity to the city or good transport would be great, but I’m pretty flexible overall. Mostly, I’m just looking for a good environment to settle into as I get started in Christchurch.

I'm a new master’s student at the University of Waikato. I’m also a designer and photographer, and I’m a pretty neat person. I love meeting new people, I’m friendly and easy - going, and I have no bad habits. I just want a quiet and peaceful environment to get through my university studies.

I sleep and wake up early, approx 5am every day so ideally a place thats quiet at night. I dont need a big room, just one I can fit my king single bed, my PC setup along with a drawing desk and some drawers, and ideally a little bit of garage space for my motorcycle too. Overall id like to be in a pretty social/communicative flat because it makes things easier for everyone, I like the communal spaces to be kept clean and I do my dishes straight away after cooking etc and just hoping everyone would be on the same page about chores and such!

I’m searching for a home with nice people of similar age (I’m 28). A home with a shared office space/extra room would be amazing yet not a dealbreaker.

Affordable furnished room, available safe parking, internet, power, water, all included in the rent pay. As I am starting a new journey, I have nothing but car and some personal belongings. I’m currently employed.
